At 956 pm the Easton Volunteers responded to an MVC involving 1 vehicle into a pole at 9581 Unionville Road. No reported injuries.
At 1630 hours Easton St . Michaels and Cordova fire companies were dispatched for a reported building fire at 9467 Unionville Rd. at the St. Stephens AME church. Chief C.R. Chance arrived on location with fire showing from the Church steeple. According to neighbors they witnessed the lightning strike and call 911. Fire crews from Easton did the initial fire attack from the outside of the building until ladder operations were in place. At 0553 hours the Easton Volunteers were alerted for a residential fire at 29700 Rabbit Hill Rd. Units from the Cordova Volunteer Firemens Association Sta 50 Queen Anne – Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Company Sta 80 fire companies responded to assist.Chief 61 arrived to find a two story single family dwelling with fire showing from the second floor nearest the A side of the structure. Engine 63 secured a water supply and placed an attack line in service as the first due engine. Engine 51 Cordova arrived and ensured the water supply while placing a backup line in service as the second due engine. The fire was suppressed.
