June 9, 2010 Rescue Box 6-1

Just before noon on Wednesday June 9, Talbot Center dispatched EVFD and Paramedic 96 for a trench collapse on Cadmus Lane in the 6-1 box. Units arrived to find an Easton Utilities employee with one leg trapped from the knee down. It was determined the area was safe for EMS personel to enter, then stabilize and remove the victim from the hole in which he was working. Crews from Engine's 67 and 68 assisted EMS with removing the patient from the hole. Paramedic 96 transported the victim to EMH for treatment. Units cleared in about 30 minutes.
